COVID-19 Update – Step 3 of BC’s Restart Plan

The Province of BC transitioned to Step 3 of BC’s Restart Plan on July 1, 2021.

Step 3 represents a change in focus from COVID-19 safety plans to communicable disease prevention.

As a result, on July 1, 2021, RMTs across the province, including ourselves, transitioned to a communicable disease prevention plan.

Communicable Disease Prevention Plan

Prior to Your Appointment
Patients are no longer required to fill out the online BC COVID-19 Self Assessment Tool.

Patients must arrive at their appointment with no signs of communicable disease. We also ask that if you have recently been with someone who is sick (with possible signs of COVID-19), please stay home and reschedule your appointment.

→ If you have signs of COVID-19, please contact public health at 8-1-1 and arrange to be tested.

Arrival at Your Appointment
As of July 19, you can choose to wait for your appointment outside of the building beside the Left Coast Health sandwich board or inside the building in our waiting room area.

Inside the Building & Clinic
At this time we ask that you WEAR A MASK in the building and for the duration of your appointment IF YOU ARE NOT FULLY VACCINATED (2 doses and two weeks has passed since your second dose).

Public health authorities recommend the use of masks in public indoor settings for individuals aged 12+ who are not fully vaccinated.

Patients can choose to wear a mask even if they are fully vaccinated.

All registered massage therapists working at Left Coast Health are fully vaccinated but we are choosing to continue to wear masks for the comfort of all patients and staff.

We will continue to ask you to use hand sanitizer before entering into our clinic space.

We are continuing to perform all of the cleaning protocols that we have been performing since reopening in June of 2020.

Rationale for Slower ‘Loosening’
We understand that we are still following safety protocols that some other businesses may not be.

We believe in keeping a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.

We ask for your understanding in our slower relaxing of our protocols.

We will continue to follow all recommendations from the Province of BC, WorkSafe and the College of Massage Therapists of BC.

When we feel it is more appropriate, we will continue to ‘loosen’ our safety protocols without contravening the recommendations set out for our profession by the province of British Columbia.

All the best to you and yours.

The Staff at Left Coast Health.
Julia, Joelle and Marcus.
