Clinic Reopening Soon…

Recently, the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), Bonnie Henry, unveiled details of BC’s COVID-19 reopening plan. Health professionals, including Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs), were included in Phase 2 of the reopening plan beginning on Tues May 19, 2020.

Bonnie Henry states that, “this is not only to ensure that we avoid the unintended consequences of prolonged delay in access to health services, but to help bring society into a new normal until such time as an effective vaccine is available.”

The PHO has worked with our regulatory body, The College of Massage Therapists of BC (CMTBC), and with WorkSafe BC to provide RMTs, and all health professionals, with specific protocols and guidelines that must be followed in order to reopen. These protocols will help ensure that health professionals have strong infection prevention and control protocols and occupational health and safety practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We received all of these guidelines on Friday May 15. There is obviously a lot to accomplish in the days ahead before we can reopen.  Ensuring everyone’s safety is our number one priority so we will not be rushing the process to reopen our clinic doors.

We will be posting detailed information about our new Reopening Plan policies and procedures as well as up-to-date information on our reopening date here on our website. Please check back for the details, specifically a post of important notes for you, the patient.

As of today, May 19, 2020, our aim is to be in operation on June 1.

Thank you for your understanding and continued loyalty to our clinic.

Yours truly,

Jennifer Graham, Julia Vosburgh and Marcus Blumensaat.
